Sesame Seeds

They are considered the oldest oilseed crop in the world and have been cultivated for more than 3,500 years. These seeds have a nutty flavor and they can be purchased either shelled or unshelled. Sudan natural whitish sesame seeds (Gadarif type) is considered one of the best types of sesame seeds in Africa.

Pigeon Peas

The pigeon pea is a perennial legume from the family Fabaceae. Its cultivation can be tracked back more than 3,500 years. Also known as Adaseya or Lubiya in Sudan. The crop can maintain growth with poor soils and little water.

Chickpea (Kabuli Chickpeas)

Chickpeas is one of the Sudan’s most important winter cereal crops of high nutritional value, and is available at reasonable market prices. Therefore, it is being favoured as popular food by various communities.

Watermelon Seeds

Watermelon seeds can provide beneficial nutrients, including magnesium and iron, and eating them roasted can be a healthful snack.Watermelon seeds boost immunity and heart health and help to control blood sugar levels, thereby occupying a prominent place in the Diabetes Food Chart.

Gum Arabic

The gum is harvested commercially from wild trees, mostly in Sudan (about 70% of the global supply) and throughout the Sahel, from Senegal to Somalia. The name “gum Arabic” (al-samgh al-‘arabi) was used in the Middle East at least as early as the 9th century.
